The Qumzari language

Group Iranian (with Kurdish, Talysh etc.), Southwest Iranian (with Persian, Tati etc.)
Geography & History This language is spoken in Oman, on the small Masandan peninsula, in the villages of Dibah, Khasab and on the Larek island. Historically it should be an ancient offspring of West Iranian colonists who settled on the Arab peninsula maybe even in prehistorica times. At least Qumzari is not obviously a descendant of Old Persian.
Structure Qumzari is known in linguistic studies just due to a small work by B.Tomas written in 1930 where the basic peculiarities of Qumzari phonetics and morphology were described. A small glossary is enclosed to the book.
